The Orvala Tortoise Pendant is a reversible charm. One side of the shell is set with a honeycomb lattice of tiny clear pavé crystals, the other is a single dark pyrite cabochon held in a plain gold rim, so the same pendant reads sparkly or earthy depending on which way it falls. The tortoise itself is cast in 24k gold tone with defined head, legs and tail rather than a flat silhouette, and it hangs from a smooth bail on a fine flat snake chain, included. The tortoise is a long-standing symbol of steadiness and long life, which is much of its appeal as a gift. Built on a tarnish-resistant stainless steel base, nickel-free and hypoallergenic.
